In 2012, before the United States lifted the embargo. I went on tour with seven punk and harcore bands from Europe and America. The festival, Brutal Fest Tour, was organized by a French man living in La Havana. We travelled around Cuba for ten days in a tour bus.
I discovered that there was a vibrant Cuban punk scene, despite the fact that the kids did not have access to this kind of music, to CDs or to the internet because of the embargo. They would manage to find music and clothes, picks for playing guitar, asked for drum sticks to the foreign bands. I stayed one week more after the tour to hang out with the kids.
